Built around generous amounts of English lavender and natural Wool Absolute, it pairs the lavender's clean, bright, silvery character with the rich softness of lanolin, supported by clary sage and soft, creamy woods. Handcrafted in small batches in Illinois at 30% perfume oil concentration. Samples from $16.

For Lanolin, I wanted to capture the feeling of a cozy countryside home surrounded by rolling pastures and grazing sheep. Rather than recreating the outdoors literally, I wanted something warm, intimate and comforting, with the unmistakable character of lavender and natural wool at its heart.

The composition is built around generous amounts of English lavender and Wool Absolute. The lavender oil comes from a single estate in Hampshire and is clean and bright, with crisp, silvery top notes rather than the sweeter character of French lavender. The Wool Absolute introduces the rich, fatty, waxy qualities of lanolin, along with subtle animalic depth, supple leather and a hint of dried fruit sweetness. Together, they create an unusual contrast between freshness and warmth.

Clary sage absolute supports the lavender's herbal character, while soft, creamy woods provide a smooth foundation that rounds out the fragrance without overshadowing its two central materials.

The result is a rustic yet comforting fragrance that evokes the warmth of a countryside home, the natural richness of sheep's wool and the familiar aromatic character of English lavender.
