Sex is often used in fragrance advertising, and with a material like ambergris, it is easy to understand why. It has long been rumored to be an aphrodisiac, even a kind of pheromone. I am not convinced any of that is true. What I do know is how it smells: animalic, musky, saline, alive. When blended with amber and Mysore sandalwood, it reads to me like clean, warm skin touched by salt and sweat. That is my interpretation. You may experience something entirely different, and that is the beauty of fragrance. It becomes your own, shaped by your skin, your memories, and whatever rises naturally in the moment.
